Perhaps President Obama missed that history lesson.

I was so sad and disappointed, but sadly not surprised, that President Obama, speaking at the UN today referred to Israel as occupiers.  The 1967 War against Israel by Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq was won by Israel.  In the course of Israel defending its life, Israel captured the Gaza Strip and Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, the West Bank from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. These details are summarized well by the Six-Day War Wikipedia entry

Capture in self-defense is not occupation.  Such careless and offensive language can be expected by Kadafi or Ahmadinejad the questionable dictatorial leaders of terrorist countries.  When such language is uttered by the President of the United States on an international stage, it is devastating and indeed a very sad day for democracy.

Almost Healthy:
Part 2 - Don't Bus My Healthcare!

In the continuing Almost Coherent series on healthcare Part 2 - Don't Bus My Healthcare, offers a comparison of the ill-fated Busing policy of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) of the 1970s to the rush for Obamacare. Be wary when liberals want to fix something in a hurry. It's much easier to break something than fix it. Lowering the bar is must faster than raising standards.

Almost Coherent introduces a new series looking at the state of health care. In Almost Healthy: Part 1 - A Tale of Three Patients, a non-scientific, hypothetical analysis compares the different experiences of three different patients visiting the doctor with the same complaints and the same health conditions:

1. The Patient with private insurance.
2. The super rich Patient.
3. The penniless Patient.
